Which brand is better for a £200 - £300 Music system; Yamaha or TEAC?
£££££££ NOT $ US DOLLARS £200 -£300 UK Pounds is like $400 - $600. Please bare that in mind. Spec of the two systems is the same except that the Yam has a bit more power and is in two components. I suspect that the TEAC may be be being sold a more 'bargain' price for what it's worth though.

I have always trusted Yamaha. Will never change brand. I've looked up your price range and have found what i think your on about. The Pianocraft E-410 music system. MP3 music system with separate elements Amplifier RX-E410 : 2 x 40 W Amplifier Yamaha to me the better brand. This link will provide price. http://www.comparestoreprices.co.uk/hi-fi-systems/yamaha-e410-black.asp

What is the best kit to connect a video iPod to a home theater system?
I want to connect my new iPod to my home theater system, using Component connections. I see Apple has one choice, and I see Monster has one choice as well. I want to be able to output audio and video to my Yamaha receiver. http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/wa/RSLID?mco=E868E119&nplm=MA242LL/C http://www.monstercable.com/productdisplay.asp?pin=1732

I suspect the video is so compressed for the iPod screen you will not need the component cable, the monster s-video and left-right audio should be fine. The iPod is no match for a DVR or Tivo.

Do I need a power protection component for my home audio system?
I am building a high end audio system and am wondering if I should spend an extra 100$ on a power protection component. I really like the pure av PF30 and I have seen it do its job because my uncle has it. Here is the link http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_25653_Belkin+AP20800FC08-BLK.html?utm_source=froogle&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=froogle Also, is this website reliable for electronics? Here is what my audio system consists of: Polk psw10 sub, ads ht300 bookshelfs, and a Yamaha rx496 stereo receiver. Thanks for your help Yahoo

Honestly in all my years of selling hi-end audio video systems I have never seen a piece of gear be damaged by a surge. Also have never heard or seen a line conditioner that truly improves the sound or picture. What I recommend to my clients and does make a nice improvement is putting in 15amp dedicated lines. The key is making sure they are installed correctly. Make sure that all lines are pulled from one side of the electrical panel as this assures all lines are in proper phase. If not done correctly you can have ground loop issues. Kevin 40 years hi-end audio video specialist

What do I need for a home stereo system?
I'm looking to buy a stereo system for my room. Not a family room, just a bedroom. I know I need to get a receiver along with the stereo component with the cd-changer. I'm looking at the Yamaha brand, Sony, and Pioneer. I also know I need the speakers, which I was looking at a set of Klipsch. Do I need a center speaker? Or will two speakers be fine? Any other input is appreciated. Thanks.

Get a Yamaha. It will blow your room away--if you want it to. They have lots of cool features and they are not that expensive. DO not get any Sony audio equipment--they're junk. Pioneer are good too. Get a center channel speaker. Most sound in a home theater setup comes out of your center channel. You will be able to perform more sound tweaking with 3 speakers. I think that klipsch are over priced---but they are good.
